When I say, “Best Chicago foods” – what comes to mind? Deep dish pizza? What about BBQ? Or fried pickles?

I stumbled upon the photos today by accident. When you work with light fixtures everyday, it becomes a habit to notice the other lighting choices around you. Sometimes your family or friends look at you a little funny when you suddenly point and say, “Oh look at their angle shades!” (Keep in mind you’re out in public)

This was exactly my thought when I saw the photos from Lillie’s Q BBQ in Chicago. They were posted on a food blog and yes, my first thought was, “Oh, those look like ours!” I logged into our system and sure enough, we had an order from Chef Charlie McKenna himself – ordering a few of our Altamont Pendants for his Chicago based restaurant.

I was thrilled when I contacted Charlie and got permission to use their company photos. We love showing off your ideas – each one is always unique, just like this one!

Named after his grandmother, Lillie and his father Quito, these two family members played a big role in Charlie’s passion for cooking and barbeque. Even after working around the country at top restaurants in Miami, New York and Chicago, he returned to Bucktown where he started up Lillie’s Q – just about a year ago.

We love the interior of the restaurant. They went with a rustic vibe like you see in many bbq joints, but you also see some historical design influence by incorporating a bit of Chicago’s industrial past. Such is their choices in lighting. Although new, the vintage pendants they chose (the Altamont), are centered around turn of the century designs. The delicate ribbed glass shade and lens gives off a nice ambient light without being overpowering above the seating areas. Next time you’re in the area, stop in to Lillie’s Q for a tasty dish and say, “Hey, look at their lights!”

Hi. I’m wanting to order the Altamont pendant. Can you tell me if the satin finish has the darker appearance?
