Featured Customer | Rocky Mountain High Winds Mean New Lights
When you live at 7,200 feet of elevation, you expect the wind to kick up now and then. Just ask Kerry of Evergreen, Colorado, today’s Featured Customer and homeowner who found that two of his gooseneck barn lights were damaged by high winds.
“We occasionally get sustained gusts of wind as high as 80 to 90 miles per hour,” Kerry says. “I had some shades that loosened and eventually fell due to the high wind.” The shades were installed on a four-stall barn that serves as a garage. The original owner had chosen similar barn style lighting and Kerry wanted to keep the look.
“The shade I chose was similar to what was previously there,” he says. “The gooseneck arm and base plate were not replaced though as I wanted to keep the base plate that was already fitted to the barn’s stucco exterior.” Kerry chose two of The Hitchen’ Post 18″ Warehouse Shades, part of our collection of Gooseneck Barn Lighting, in a Dark Green finish. The Hitchen Post comes in more than 40 different finish colors ranging from standard finishes to premium, aluminum, and brass finishes. There are also dozens of ways to further customize this light with stylish gooseneck arms, wire guards, and cast guard and glass which give a definite vintage vibe.
“The style and color were important as the stall lights and garage door lights were already in place,” Kerry explains. “With the two shades I bought, everything needed to work together.” Kerry found Barn Light Electric in “an online search that kept recurring,” he says. “It also caught my attention when I learned the company was in Titusville as I lived there when I was eight or nine years old and have fond memories of the place.”
What does Kerry like best about his new warehouse shades?
“They look great,” he says. And thanks to quality American craftsmanship, they won’t be blowing away anytime soon!
