Industrial Pendant Lighting Pops in New Texas Home
The bleak midwinter is upon us. With the polar vortex bearing down and wind chills plummeting even in the southeast, we’re looking for anything warm and bright to liven up our day. Out in Austin, Texas, Carrie need look no further than her lovely kitchen to see a bright pop of happy yellow thanks to the industrial pendant lighting she recently purchased for her new home.
“Everything else in our house is white so we wanted fun, bright pops of color with our lights,” she says. Carrie chose the classic shape of an RLM warehouse shade for over the island with the Bomber Stem Mount Pendant. She customized these handcrafted, American-made ceiling lights with generous 17″ shades finished in bright Buttery Yellow, and 36″ stems finished to match the shades.
The Bomber features a deep, rounded bowl making it perfect for focused lighting onto countertops, tables, and other work surfaces. Its sturdy stem mount safely conceals and protects all of the wiring so this fixture is rated for both indoor and outdoor installation.
In the adjoining dining room, Carrie chose a complementary fixture — the Bomber 2-Light Stem Mount Pendant. Hand spun from commercial grade steel and finished with high-gloss, porcelain enamel glass, this RLM-style light brings industrial style to many residential spaces thanks to the variety of options available for customizing. Carrie chose the matching Buttery Yellow finish for this chandelier along with a 48″ stem and two 18″ mounting arms.
“We chose this particular fixture because it coordinated well with the island pendants,” Carrie notes. To complete the look, Carrie chose another Bomber Stem Mount Pendant for the living room but customized this ceiling pendant with a 17″ shade and a flush mount to keep the light close to the ceiling.
“It’s all one big space essentially so we wanted the light to be in the same family as the other lights,” she explains. “We think yellow is such a fun color. We love the look of them.”
