Featured Customer | Barn Light Pendants, Wall Lights Shine in VintageKC Cover Story
We love it when customers share photos of their lighting renovations with us, and when Becki Anderson of Liberty, Missouri, recently posted photos to our Facebook page, it was big news indeed! Becki’s home was featured on the cover of the Summer issue of VintageKC magazine! The feature showcased the six-month remodeling that Becki and husband Steve tackled when they bought the 115-year-old home.
The cover shot is of Becki’s kitchen where the couple chose classic Warehouse Shade Stem Mount Pendants over the island and a matching Warehouse Shade Gooseneck Light for highlighting the apron-front sink.
“The overall design direction of our kitchen is a purposeful, approachable design,” Becki says. “Steve and I are both Midwest kids and the durability and clean lines of farmhouse style appeals to both of us.” The stem mount pendants have a White finish and 36″ stem while the gooseneck light features the same White finish and a 22″ arm.
“The gooseneck was the first thing chosen for our kitchen,” Becki explains. “The clean, simple design plays well with the muted cabinet color and classic white subway tile backdrop. The gooseneck shape and contour silhouette softens the industrial ruggedness.” Becki chose the white finish to coordinate with her new Danby marble countertops and grey cabinet color.
“These lights and their finish champion their workhorse appeal,” she notes. “I love utilizing items in our home that you may have seen in a barn or a storefront.”
In the dining room, Becki designed a built-in seating area and cabinet space for the room. She chose two Barn Light Arlington Sconces which were wired into the front of the cabinets. This American made wall sconce comes in two sizes — Becky chose the smaller 8″ size — and can be customized with an array of finish colors and other options. Wet-rated for use indoors or out, this compact wall light offers stylish down lighting in any space.
“I love the humble nature of this lighting. They play well on both sides of the modern and vintage fence,” Becky says. “Beyond beautiful, these fixtures bring great lighting to our kitchen and workspaces. They are lovely and purposeful — a perfect combination!” You can read more about Becki’s home in her blog Little Mrs. 716.
