Wall Sconces Highlight Best of Machine Age, Steampunk Movement

The inspiration for many of our lighting collections can be traced to a specific movement or era in the history of American lighting. Our Rustic Wall Sconces, for example, find their roots in the Atomic Age when vapor-proof designs offered a rugged alternative to the bare bulbs of the day.

For our latest offering, we turn to the Machine Age, a time that came on the heels of the Industrial Age when assembly-line production and the development of modern machines was at its peak. The Lang Machine Age 4-Light Vanity Light takes the ruggedness from Machine Age fixtures and embodies the imagination found in steampunk designs to create an industrial fixture with elegant details.

Four cord-hung pendants are draped around a metal pipe that give the Lang a distinctive look. The bare bulb sockets are perfect for displaying nostalgic Edison Light Bulbs for a vintage look or Half-Chrome Bulbs for a more modern bent. The pipe sports an Aged Aluminum finish.

This American-made fixture is hand crafted in our Florida manufacturing facility and can be customized with one of 23 different cording options including cotton, chevron, and cotton twist cording. Black, Nickel, Brass, and Copper sockets are available with your choice of paddle switch, knob switch, or no switch at all.

And while this is perfectly suited as a bathroom vanity light, this wall light could also add a brash sense of style to kitchens, laundry rooms, and trendy businesses looking to stand apart from the competition. The damp rating given to this wall sconce indicates that it can be installed indoors or in protected outdoor spaces such as screened porches.

Be sure to browse all of our Machine Age-inspired wall sconces including the two-light Blaylock Machine Age Sconce, shown above, and the more compact Victoria Machine Age Sconce. These wall lights feature the same rugged handcrafted design as the Lang and are unique in that they can be mounted either horizontally and vertically.
