Glass Shade Pendant Adds Vintage Charm to Lakeside Cottage
Architects see it all the time. A classic but tired structure has outlived its usefulness, and the owners want a new building on the same spot. Such was the case on Maine’s sparkling Sebago Lake where a new camp would rise on the existing footprint of the old. The owners wanted a modest yet upscale, 3-bedroom getaway in 1,400 square feet of living space. Views of the lake were paramount while still maintaining privacy.
The new structure, created by Kaplan Thompson Architects, takes on a classic Maine feel with vintage touches especially in this cozy kitchen. The placement of the windows just above the counter allow for storage in the small space while still providing light and ventilation. The pendant above the square wooden table is much like our Vintage Ruffled Satin Glass Pendant offered on Vintage Barn Lighting. This delicate glass shade pendant comes with a polished nickel socket and knob or in unfinished brass with a turn key. The cotton twist cord comes in four colors and lengths ranging from 24″ to 60″ long. Like all of our antique fixtures, these glass pendants come to you rewired and ready to hang.
We also love the vernacular touch of nautical lighting between the shelving. To get this look, check out our line of Nautical Wall Sconces such as the Anchorage Bulkhead Wall Mount Light Fixture. This light has a space saving profile with an industrialized cage across the frosted glass shield. It comes in both small and large sizes, and you can choose from 40 finish colors including traditional shades of black or galvanized to more funky and retro looks in our premium line of finishes.
