Rustic Kitchen Lighting Ties Elements Together
If you could change one thing about your kitchen, what would it be? New hardware on the cabinets? Maybe polished concrete counter tops instead of granite?
Gary and JoHannah of Austin, Texas, targeted their modern pendant lighting. One of the features of their kitchen is a vintage Chambers gas stove and they searched for something more appropriate to complement the appliance.
“We wanted to give the kitchen a new look and increase the amount of light we have in there,” Gary says. The couple selected the Brisbane Pendant Light to bring some rustic industrial swagger to their space. They customized these kitchen lights with a 14″ shade, Navy finish, and a standard White cord. They also chose a complementary White cast guard and Ribbed glass.
“We love the retro feel of the Barn Light Electric fixtures,” Gary notes, “We liked a couple of others as well, but we needed brighter light in the kitchen so we chose these.”
The Brisbane offers both a wide span of downward directed light plus additional light that escapes over the top of the shade through the cast guard and glass body. The Navy finish color ties in nicely with the other pops of colors in the kitchen.
“The white guard matched our basic kitchen color and the ribbed glass added another texture and a nostalgic feel,” Gary adds.
The American-made Brisbane is part of a family of industrial pendant lights including the Brisbane Gooseneck Light and Brisbane Flush Mount Light. All are easy to customize with finish, gooseneck arm, guard and glass options to suit most any residential or commercial space.
“We love the additional light that these fixtures produce and the uniqueness and quality of the fixtures,” Gary says.
