Featured Customer | Barn Wall Sconces Light Up Bathroom Remodel

Most people start their day in the bathroom so it makes sense that this room be inviting, comfortable, and have a good layout so there’s no traffic jam at 7am. Jenn Budoff, of Chesapeake, Virginia, recently undertook the remodel of her master bathroom after working on the concept and renderings for about a year.

The design started with hand-thrown ceramic sinks that were created by her mother, a professional potter for more than 50 years. Once she received the sinks, Jenn and her husband selected tile, granite, plumbing fixtures, and lighting based on the sink colors.

The hardest part, she says, was trying to figure out exactly which fixture to get, but once they settled on the Mustang Sconce, she called for color samples and finally chose the Rosewood finish.

“The lights look fantastic!” Jenn says. “The sconces really add to the feel of the space keeping it warm, not harsh. I especially love the way the light glows in the rings above the shade which also lends a touch of nautical flair. It’s such a simple touch, but so pretty!”

The Mustang Sconce was a great choice for the bathroom as it’s rated for damp locations. The distinctive design includes louvered vents on the neck that allow a soft glow of light to escape onto the flared shade. Although the remodel took much longer than the 4-6 weeks the contractor estimated, Jenn and her husband say it was worth the wait.

“From demolition of the old to the completion of the new look took 13 weeks,” Jenn says. “But we are really, really happy with the remodel. Everybody loves the barn lights!”
