Schoolhouse Globes
Schoolhouse globes are best cleaned with a damp, soft cloth. To protect the glass and painted bands, avoid alcohol-based and abrasive cleaners. Instead, we recommend the following alcohol-free soaps and cleaners: 409, Windex, Dawn Dish Soap, Simple Green, and Mr. Clean Multi-Surface. Schoolhouse globes featuring a painted band selection should only be used indoors.
Copper & Brass
For oil-rubbed copper, weathered copper and brass finishes, slight variations may occur from shade to shade.
Copper and brass fixtures have a longer lead time and may take up to 4 weeks to manufacture. That are no returns accepted on these metals.
Copper is a "living" metal that, without regular cleaning, will undergo a natural weathering process. Much like the formation of rust on iron, a patina develops on copper which actually protects the metal. If you prefer the new-penny look of copper, you can keep it shiny with regular care with a gentle cleaning agent such as Bar Keeper's Friend.
Lead Times & Returns
Standard lead time is 7-14 business days. This is not applicable to commercial orders, Quick Ship lighting, or furniture. Quick Ship lighting has a standard lead time of 5-7 business days. Furniture requires a 4-6-week lead time. Copper and brass products have a longer lead time and may take up to 4 weeks to manufacture.
Returns are accepted for most products within 30 days of delivery. We do not accept returns on fixtures that have been installed or are damaged. There are no returns accepted on furniture items, natural metal products, or products assembled with GU24 sockets, integrated LED's or light bulbs. All fixtures undergo a strict quality control evaluation to ensure they meet our high standards; however, some minor blemishes may occur due to our hands-on construction and manufacturing processes. These blemishes do not affect the functionality of the fixture.
Finish Care & Maintenance
No metal fixture, no matter the finish, is guaranteed against corrosion, especially in salt air environments. If your fixture will be installed in a location near salt water, we recommend cleaning it monthly.
If your fixture is not installed in a location near salt water, we recommend periodic cleaning with a mild soap-and-water wash and gentle buffing to extend the life of our painted finishes.
I purchased the schoolhouse chain pendent with the 3 stripes in black with matching top and black cloth cord. It is a wonderful addition to our new farmhouse kitchen and is the showcase of the white bead board ceiling with original barn boards from our old barn. It is exactly like pictured online. Customer service is great even when there was a mix up on the cord that was sent in error. Light and fixtures are packed Extremely Well . It is worth the price and even the wait between order and ship time. The large glass shade size fits perfectly for the area which is about 14 ft x 13 ft and supplements all the cabinetry lighting well.

This light looks great over our kitchen sink--it even looks great when seen from the outside! The colored bands add a wonderful touch of color. I like it so much I keep it turned on most of the time.

This light is perfect for our 1920s farmhouse. I looked everywhere for an antique light, but couldn't find what I wanted. This light gives the exact look I was searching for with all the wonderful modern upgrades in a new light fixture. Will be buying many more lights here!!!
