Q&A:

Q. What are the image file requirements?
A. JPEG images only, please! Image length with a 1500 pixel length, set to 300 dpi, Hi-Res or larger files sizes preferred.  

Q. Can I submit an image of my home that was shot by a professional?
A. Yes. You must have documented consent from your photographer that can be provided upon request. Contest prizes will be awarded to the contest applicant. Photos with watermarks are subject to disqualification. 

Q. I am an industry professional. Can I submit images of my client's spaces?
A. Certainly! If you choose to submit a customer's photograph please have proper permissions from your client. If we need to inquire about lighting in the project, please be sure to have access to your or their Purchase Order.

Q. The light in my room looks like a Barn Light Electric product, but I'm not sure. Can I still submit?
A. Sorry, but no. Only spaces that feature Barn Light Electric products will be eligible for the contest. If there is question about the light fixture in the space, we reserve the right to hold the entry while we verify the product's Purchase Order.

Q. How can I take a better picture of my space? What kind of image are you looking for?
A. We are looking for fresh spaces from all regioins in all kinds of styles. While we want our lights to be a focal point in these images, you put a lot of thought and effot into your design and we want to see it all--from floor to ceiling. Classic, straight forward angles (both vertical and horizontal) are best. Shooting your images in natural lighting with your camera mounted on a solid surface like a tripod or counter often removes the need to use an artificial flash, which disturbs natural, ambient light.

CONTEST PERIOD:  Barn Light Electric Photo Contest (the “Contest”) begins on July 29^th, 2013 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time and concludes on August 26^th, 2013 at 11:59 PM ET. Submissions received prior to or after established contest period are subject to ineligibility.

ELIGIBILITY: Contest applicants (“Contestants”) must be 18 years of age or older. Contestants must have access to the Purchase Order of the featured Barn Light Electric product in case of inquiry by Barn Light Electric employees and affiliates.

Customers residing outside of the U.S.A. are encouraged to submit their photos for a chance to win*.

HOW TO ENTER: Contestants must submit a 300 dpi JPEG image capturing their commercial, residential, restaurant, or retail space that features a Barn Light Electric product. To enter the Contest, visit the Entry Page and follow the directions provided to complete the entry form. Then upload your photo submit. Photo must be submitted in JPG or PNG format and cannot exceed 20MB in size. All Entries must be received by 11:59 PM ET on the last day of the Entry Period to be considered Contestants are limited to three submissions. All Entries become the sole property of Barn Light Electric and will not be returned.

REQUIREMENTS OF ENTRIES:
Entry may not contain any content that is sexually explicit or suggestive; unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; profane or pornographic; contains nudity; promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); is obscene or offensive; endorses any form of hate or hate group; appears to duplicate or copy any other Contestant submissions; defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about other people or companies; contains trademarks, logos owned by others, without permission; contains any personal identification; contains copyrighted materials owned by others, without permission; violates any law.

Entry image and must be a space belonging to the Contestant. If the image has been photographed by a professional it may not have won previous awards. Contestant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission, all rights to feature any design, space, or elements featured in photograph. Barn Light Electric has the right to request a copy of these permissions if needed. Failure to provide such proof may render photos null and void.

By submitting images, the Contestant grants permission for their work and image to be showcased on other Barn Light Electric affiliated pages, prints, newsletters, and social media outlets.

JUDGING: All eligible submissions will be reviewed by a panel of qualified Barn Light Electric staff (the “Panel”). Photos will be selected and ranked according to: Photo quality and clarity, Design aesthetics, Spaces that showcase Barn Light Electric products in appealing surroundings, and comply with the aforementioned rules. Based on these qualifications, the Panel will select one (1) winner for the Grand Prize to be featured in a National Advertisement, one (1) Runner up and one (1) Honorable Mention. Selection of the winning Contestant remains in the sole discretion of Barn Light Electric. Barn Light Electric reserves the right not to award the prizeshould it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified submissions. Prize verdicts are subject to verification, eligibility and compliance with the Official Rules. Barn Light Electric and the Panel’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential winners will be notified by email and must reply to award notification within 3 business days of contact. If contact is not reciprocated by the 4^th business day, the Contestant will be disqualified and Barn Light Electric may award First Prize to the runner-up.

PRIZES: Barn Light Electric will award the First Prize Winner $500 in store credit, and the winning submission will be featured in one of its national magazine advertisements. Contestants can elect to have their business or professional information and/or location shared in this advertisement with the discretion of Barn Light Electric’s Artistic Director. Runner up will receive $250 in store credit. Honorable mention will receive $100 in store credit. Prizes will be awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee. Winners may not substitute or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided. All prize details are at Barn Light Electric’s sole discretion.

*Please be aware that international Contestants who recieve awards will still have their orders processed and shipped as such. Dutys, fees, and international shipping will not be covered by prize money.

OWNERSHIP/USE OF ENTRIES: By submitting a photograph, each entrant agrees Barn Light Electric shall own the submitted entry and that it and its designees may edit, modify, and distribute the images and all elements of such submissions including, without limitation in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification to entrant or any third party.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating, each entrant agrees: (a.) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Barn Light Electric and panel, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Photo Contest; (b.) to release, discharge and hold harmless Barn Light Electric and their respective, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotions, and the respective employees, directors, shareholders, and representatives of the forgoing from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize; and (c.) to the use of his/her name and submitted photographs in advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet by its designees, without compensation or additional consents from entrant or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection. An entrant or winner may be disqualified from the Contest if he/ she fails to comply with each provision of these Official Rules, as determined in the sole discretion of Barn Light Electric Company. Participation in the Contest is at entrant's own risk. Barn Light Electric Company shall not be responsible for unintentionally excluding valid entrants from the possible winners and also shall not be responsible if valid entrants are not received due to communication errors relating to the internet, email, computer or telephone network failures, human error such as a Barn Light Electric Company or employee accidentally not including the entrant for any other reason. Barn Light Electric Company does not make any, and hereby disclaims any and all, representations or warranties of any kind regarding any prize. By entering, an entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Barn Light Electric Company and their respective partners, sponsors, subsidiaries and affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents, and representatives from any damage, injury, death, loss, claim, action, demand, or other liability (collectively, "Claims") that may arise from their acceptance, possession and/or use of any prize or their participation in this promotion, or from any misuse or malfunction of any prize awarded, regardless of whether such Claims, or knowledge of the facts constituting such Claims, exist at the time of entry or arise at any time thereafter. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Giveaway will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Barn Light Electric reserves the right to modify these Official Contest Rules in any way or at any time. Barn Light Electric reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Contest should viruses, bugs or other causes beyond their control corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest. In the event of cancellation or suspension, Barn Light Electric Company shall promptly post a notice on their online Contest page to such effect.
