TITUSVILLE, Fla. (December 5, 2013) — In a year marked with record growth, Barn Light Electric was honored this week when the Titusville, Florida-based company was named the 2013 Business Leader of the Year for Manufacturing by Spacecoast Business Magazine.

Owners Bryan and Donna Scott left their professional careers in 2008 to run their fledgling business full time with the dream of reviving the art of manufacturing porcelain enamel lighting. In August 2012, the Scotts saw their dream come true when the first fixtures came rolling out of the porcelain oven they purchased in Italy and assembled in their manufacturing facility in Mims. Barn Light Electric is the only company in America manufacturing porcelain enamel lighting which is desirable for its high-gloss finish that will never fade.

Recognized for its quality, American-made products by numerous organizations including the Martha Stewart American Made Awards, Barn Light was featured this year by both CNN and CNBC in stories focusing on how the Scotts turned their one-time hobby into a successful business.

The outlook for next year is continued growth with a new manufacturing facility, opened in October, running at full speed to fill orders from homeowners, architects, designers, builders, and commercial business owners.

Barn Light Electric is also the sole distributor to Barn Light Australia, a company the Scotts helped establish to make their lighting more readily available to customers in Australia and New Zealand. This international expansion has led to increased production in the Brevard County facilities and world-wide recognition of the Barn Light Electric name.
