Vintage Schoolhouse Pendant Lighting Inside An Iconic Beach Resort
The Dunmore Beach Club is a gorgeous, 1960’s style beach resort. Located on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, the resort is packed with things to do for the family. Whether you choose to kayak through the crystal clear ocean water or get a beachfront massage by the staff’s massage therapist, the Dunmore is the epitome of relaxation. With a limited number of accommodations, a personalized experience is guaranteed.
The décor in this coastal Harbour Island hotel is atypical of most seaside retreats ; the rooms and dining areas look like that of a home as opposed to those in a big hotel chain. Designer Amanda Lindroth did well when restoring the old hotel, and she is more than familiar with that beachy, Floridian- Mid Century style. This made it easy to bring the Dunmore back into its old school groove. Doesn’t looking at the photo above just make you want to pack your bags and check in?
The exterior pool pavilion was outfitted with all things beachy and retro. Metal turquoise and white furniture harmonizes with the aqua blue pool and nearby ocean. Getting the same look as the Dunmore in your home isn’t difficult, even if you live in a land-locked area. Take that old and dusty formal living room that no one uses and transform it into a sun room. Or maybe you do have a pool area that you can mimic the designs shown today. This will really help you to make the most of your home and give your family a place to kick back and relax together.
Look closer inside the pavilion – notice the pretty schoolhouse lights ? Who would have thought that schoolhouse lighting would be synonymous with coastal living and design? The Deco Schoolhouse Pendant brings out a Mid Century feel and is a true vintage light. The Deco is an original vintage light fixture from Urban Archaeology, finished in antique brass for a true retro appearance. Either of our authentic vintage or reproduction schoolhouse pendants will work within your own poolside pavilion or home!
