One of the state’s many green builders is Boa Constructor Green Building & Design which has been specializing in natural and sustainable building practices since 1980. Located in the Santa Cruz area, their design team recently tackled a “modern barn” addition that features wood elements in fir, a corrugated metal wall, and porcelain enamel barn lighting.

In a previous post, we visited a secluded Vermont cabin tucked away on a winding path where architect Joan Heaton created a cozy yet light-filled cabin for her clients. Even with high ceilings and plenty of windows, Heaton knew lighting the 600-square-foot cabin was critical especially in winter. Getting Ready for Summer with a Photo Shoot on Tybee Island

With three miles of uninterrupted public beaches, salt marshes teeming with birds, diverse cuisine, and plenty of casual nightlife, our recent foray onto Tybee Island, just over the bridge from Savannah, Georgia, held plenty of distractions for our photographer Lauren, and her able assistant Julie. The pair were focused, however, on capturing images of some of our newest wall sconces, nautical style chandeliers, and other items for our upcoming Summer catalog.

Schoolhouse Shades, Barn Wall Lights for a 1920s Farmhouse

Like most extensive remodeling projects, Katie’s efforts on a 1920s-era farmhouse in Wellington, Colorado, have been underway for more than two years. She and her husband are working slowly to bring the jewel-in-the-rough back to its original state.
