Porcelain Barn Lighting That Outlasts Coastal Elements

Being in a coastal area ourselves, we love the different dimensions of style we see on a day-to-day basis. Everything from renovated Victorian homes to contemporary spreads, it seems as if any style of home is acceptable in Florida. This holds true in plenty of other areas as well. Living near the water seems to give people a sense of freedom, both in their life styles and décor.

Coastal areas though, can also pose threats to these décor styles and homes. Between hurricane season or wild fires brought on by drought and high temperatures, everything installed in and around you home should be durable and long lasting. Occasionally the sea breezes and rain can weather things beautifully, however, some objects in your home aren’t meant to look weathered.

The photo today came from Coastal Living magazine – a treasure trove of advice for those living near the water. This cozy dining area above has a charming palette of yellows and blues, tying in with the seaside way of life. The yellow wood chairs have that unique weathered look that many strive to find in antique stores, all positioned around a modern white enamel table. Hanging above the table and chairs is a brilliant blue warehouse pendant light that pulls it’s colors from the tones of the seat cushions and patterned rug.

Porcelain enamel lighting is ideal for coastal climates, as the finish won’t lose its initial vibrant coloring – even in direct sunlight or the path of an afternoon thunderstorm. While we do love the look of vintage barn lighting, nothing catches your eye more than a perfect Cobalt Blue warehouse shade! This coastal pendant is also available as a gooseneck or stem-mount light too, both of which have mounting options constructed of heavy-duty aluminum that keeps interior wiring safe and dry!
