Featured Customer | Gooseneck Lights Bring Historic Touch to Conch-Style House

They pack a lot of culture, sunshine, and absolute fun into the seven square miles that make up our nation’s southernmost city. While Key West, Florida, is known for many things, the history of the place is particularly fascinating. Cuba may come to mind when you think of cigar making, but Key West was once considered the cigar capital of the world shipping more than 62 million cigars annually. In the late 1800s, there were more than 80 cigar factories with hundreds of workers living in small conch houses. Repurposed Warehouse Shades Find New Life in Australian Retreat

Vintage Porcelain Lighting Sets Mood in Victorian Wine Cellar

vintage_cord_hung_porcelain_pendant.jpgSad as it may be, most homes don’t come with a wine cellar. Much less a wine cellar that oozes with warmth, style, and a moody vibe that lets you know as soon as you cross the threshold that this is a place to slow down, relax, and breathe —  just like a good wine. This gorgeous setting is part of a 126-year-old home located in Connecticut’s Pine Meadow Historic District. Known as the Philip Chapin House after its first owner, it is named in the National Register of Historic Places as “an excellent example of Victorian domestic architecture.” The owners have spent decades preserving the historic details of this home and, as you can see here, chose classic porcelain lighting to set the mood.
