Although you may have not recognized them, Half Chrome Light Bulbs have been used in commercial buildings for many years. Typically used in environments where a glare needs to be reduced, the chrome coating shields the filament, ultimately making the bulb an indirect source of light. They are a wonderful lighting choice wherever you need to keep light directly out of people’s eyes. Such situations can include bathrooms, kitchens, offices, or restaurants where overhead pendants have a very close proximity to one’s eyes. Read More »

Preserving Mid 20th Century History With Antique Lighting Options

At the beginning of the 1930s a shift from industrial lights which hung over individual workbenches began to be replaced by its newly designed replacement, which became known as RLM Warehouse Shades. Design and Functionality Collide

One of our most popular Gooseneck and Pendant lights is our Outback Series. On the Outback you get the best of both worlds with our classic warehouse shade design, and cast guard and glass which also gives off side light. Like many of our products here at Barn Light Electric, options for the Outback are almost endless. On the Gooseneck version, we have more than 40 different Gooseneck Arms. With our Outback Pendant, you can choose to hang the fixture with a Stem Mount, Black, or White Cord. If you do hang your Outback Pendant on a Stem, check to see if your ceiling is slanted or flat. If it is slanted, then you will need the Stem Hang Straight Canopy, this allows the light to swivel and hang straight on a sloped ceiling. If your ceiling is flat, then bypass the hang straight canopy, and use our Stem Mount Canopy. In addition to the many options the Outback allows, the glass enclosure has multiple choices as well. You can choose from a Clear, Frost, Ribbed, Amber, Amber Crackled, Blue, Red, or Green Glass. If space is an issue, do not worry, the Outback is available from 12″ all the way up to 27″. Whether you choose the Outback Pendant or Gooseneck Fixture, your RLM possibilities are just about endless.
