NEW Porcelain Barn Lights: Goodrich® Skyway & Goodrich® Husky

barn-light-porcelain-enamel-goodrich-porcelain-enamel-skyway.pngBarn Light Electric Co.® is proud to announce two NEW additions to our extensive line of porcelain enamel barn lights: the 16″ Goodrich® Skyway Porcelain Gooseneck Light and the 17″ Goodrich® Husky Porcelain Gooseneck Light. Both the Skyway and the Husky comes complete with everything you need for installation – a porcelain socket, 7′ of wire and a heavy duty G-19 gooseneck arm that attaches to a large aluminum backing plate. For an added $30, a black or white powder coat finish can be applied to the gooseneck arm and backing plate. To customize the look of your Skyway or Huskey, choose from multiple different shade finishes – including our newest finish, Jadite (shown below). As with all of our porcelain warehouse shades, these barn lights are CSA Listed, meaning they comply with both national and international lighting standards. Combining porcelain enamel lighting with the CSA listing makes these shades a great option to consider when shopping for commercial grade lighting.

The Goodrich® Skyway resembles The Original™ barn light, which has remained one of our top selling gooseneck and pendant lights. Its tall neck fans out into a thin sleek shade. The shiny porcelain enamel glass exterior qualifies the Skyway as an ultra modern lighting addition to a urban loft or cutting edge home. The Goodrich® Husky is just that, large. Borrowing design elements from The Bomber, the relatively deep 17″ shade stems from a much shorter neck than the Skyway.

Like all of our porcelain enamel shades, the Husky and Skyway are based on original designs of Goodrich® RLM warehouse lights. RLM warehouse shades were first released in the 1930’s and they steadily grew into American culture, as did Atomic Wall Sconces. Originally, these light fixtures were commonly found on the around gas stations, barns, warehouses, shipping yards and industrial areas. They’re often referred to as Gas Station Lights. Today, vintage inspired remakes of the originals have transcended into residential life and are popular light fixtures in living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. Porcelain barn lights are also used to add a touch of character to restaurants with rustic settings, such as Dinosaur BBQ in New York, which incorporated our Ivanhoe® Sinclair Industrial Porcelain Pendants.
