Schoolhouse Globes
Schoolhouse globes are best cleaned with a damp, soft cloth. To protect the glass and painted bands, avoid alcohol-based and abrasive cleaners. Instead, we recommend the following alcohol-free soaps and cleaners: 409, Windex, Dawn Dish Soap, Simple Green, and Mr. Clean Multi-Surface. Schoolhouse globes featuring a painted band selection should only be used indoors.
Copper & Brass
For oil-rubbed copper, weathered copper and brass finishes, slight variations may occur from shade to shade.
Copper and brass fixtures have a longer lead time and may take up to 4 weeks to manufacture. That are no returns accepted on these metals.
Copper is a "living" metal that, without regular cleaning, will undergo a natural weathering process. Much like the formation of rust on iron, a patina develops on copper which actually protects the metal. If you prefer the new-penny look of copper, you can keep it shiny with regular care with a gentle cleaning agent such as Bar Keeper's Friend.
Lead Times & Returns
Lead Time: Standard lead time is 7-14 business days. For products in our Quick Ship Collection, standard lead time is 5-7 business days. Products utilizing natural metals including brass and copper may take up to 20-30 business days to manufacture.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to current supply chain challenges and additional factors beyond Barn Light Electric's control, lead times may be longer than customary. Please contact our Customer Care Team if you have any questions or concerns regarding your order(s) at 321-269-2299. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your extended patience.
Finish Care & Maintenance
No metal fixture, no matter the finish, is guaranteed against corrosion especially in salt air environments. If your fixture is installed in a location near salt water, we recommend cleaning it frequently.
If your fixture is not installed in a location near salt water, we recommend periodic cleaning with a mild soap-and-water wash and gentle buffing to extend the life of our painted finishes.
Purchased 2 of these over my island i love them!

Purchased this light in the jadeite finish and love it's old-school charm. My only quibble is that I wish the screws sent to install the canopy were painted the same jadeite color. Unfinished, they stand out a bit.

We purchased 2 of these lights with yellow stripes for over our kitchen bar counter. We love them! They add just the right pop of color to the room.

I love this light, just what I wanted. I do not notice what other reviewers had described, the stripe looks good on and off. I have a 60W bulb in mine, which is bright enough. The jadeite color is so pretty. I am really glad I went with this one.

LOVE IT!!! I wanted something antique looking since my house is over 100 years old. It is perfect and superb quality. A pleasant surprise was the choice of colors and banding options. I got the barn red, which is a true red (not rust or burgundy or orange). Very well packaged also.

I really like the schoolhouse light I purchased. The folks 3ho helped me configure it were very accomodating and friendly and had a can do approach. I think they have excellent customer support. It arrived well packed and was very easy to install. It is clearly very well made. It works well and matches my interior in style and color perfectly. The only critique I would have is that the Jadite colored painted band which looks great when the light is off becomes opaque when the light is turned on. It would have been ideal if the Painted band retained its Jadite color and was translucent with the jadite tint with the lights on inside the globe rather than becme a dark band. Since I have additional ambient light in my kitchen it is not a major problem however if this was my sole source of light it might be a disspointment to some. Overall I am very satisfied

I like the lights but was disappointed in the quality of the band painted on my stem mount light. It was not a clean edge on the top band. I also purchased 2 flush mounts with jadite bands. The painting was better but, as someone else mentioned, when the lights are on the jadite bands look black.

I installed the schoolhouse lights in the new kitchen of my 1920 bungalow for not only the obvious reason, lighting, but as a design feature. The six lights installed look amazing and are of high quality. I would recommend them to anybody interested in this type of light.

These lights are very good quality. Very happy with the 3 I ordered. Had to shorten stem length. It was no problem to do so.

I ordered the lights without the globes because I had two antique globes that I wanted to use. They fit perfectly and are a focal point for each room. Many thanks!!
