Porch Lighting | Exterior Pendants and Outdoor Wall Sconces
You’ve heard it a million times, but the exterior of your home really can make or break a great first impression. No matter how wonderful the interior is, the first and last thing visitors see is the outside. With a fresh paint job and new landscaping, finishing touches can be easily made with our outdoor pendants and wall sconces.
Exterior lighting is key. Any old wall sconce won’t do, especially when it can double as decoration or add to the surrounding architectural elements. The photo on the right, from Architectural Digest, is a prime example of an indoor and outdoor space. The passageway to the beach incorporates both the home’s Mediterranean design and elements from the nearby shore line. The nautical outdoor pendant is identical to the Portsmouthe Exterior Pendant. It’s somewhat Colonial in appearance, but the maritime influence is undeniable. This flexible design makes it ideal for a range of homes including a coastal New England cottage or Southwest stucco architecture.
With the photo on the left, you’ll discover a home that is a bit more traditional and Southern. A row of rocking chairs welcomes in visitors and invites them to stay awhile. Not only are there oversized pendants above, but also coordinating lanterns and sconces. The St. Germaine Exterior Pendant incorporates the same cube-like design with seeded glass for added character and ambiance. The matching St. Germaine Barn Lantern will be perfect for flanking the wrap around porch and nearby doorways. As you face the front of the home, both lighting designs incorporate square shapes naturally made with the porch columns and found within the window panes. It’s final little touches like these that can set your home apart from the rest!
