Porcelain Lighting – A Solid Investment for Our Featured Customer

With a turn-of-the-century kitchen that hadn’t seen any refreshment in years, Beth from Delaware, decided to go all out. Turning to magazines and websites for inspiration, Beth started selecting new paint colors, countertops, and improved kitchen lighting. This was a complete remodel of our kitchen,” Beth says. “We very much changed the layout and took out a back hall closet to gain some much-needed space.” Beth found perfect lighting in the form of a shallow bowl porcelain pendant in a red finish that would complement her new paint colors.

Beth installed two of the porcelain pendants over the center island and one over the sink. She chose the brilliant Cherry Red finish with a contrasting black porcelain finish for the canopy. And or the mounting, Beth selected a Black Cotton Twist cord to add to the vintage feeling of the lights. For the crowning vintage effect, she added an authentic Double Loop Edison Style Light Bulb in each one.

Based on original 1930s designs, the Sinclair follows a simple industrial style that offers timeless appeal. The Sinclair is American-made and hand spun from commercial grade steel by our metal artisans. Two coats of porcelain enamel glass are hand applied, then the shade is baked in our porcelain oven to produce that signature glossy finish that will never fade. And Beth can sit back and enjoy her coffee knowing that minimal maintenance is required to keep that shiny finish looking like new for years to come.

“We actually like everything about our new lights,” she says. “The interesting red color and finish, and even though our kitchen is still turn-of-the-century, these pendants add a fun retro look to it.”
