Hello - I just bought a very expensive antique ceiling shade
that does not have a ceiling plate (is canopy the same thing?)
It has a metal pipe that goes through the hole in the top of
shade along with the piece into which the bulb is screwed.

When I shop for a ceiling plate (canopy) will the hole in the plate
be a standard size such that I can be assured that the metal pipe
that came with this shade will fit through the ceiling plate hole?

Thanks very much.
