Featured Customer | Porcelain Jadite Pendants for A Modern Farmhouse Kitchen
While getting older may have its downsides, the perspective that comes with age is a blessed thing. Many empty nesters realize that the 4,000-square-foot home they lovingly maintained while the kids were growing up is actually way too big and too much work when there are more entertaining ways to spend a weekend. Such was the case for today’s Featured Customer, Janet and her husband, who decided to downsize their living space in a quiet and peaceful setting. Their dream — a modern, one-level farmhouse situated on 10 acres in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
“Our vision from the start was a one-level farmhouse that we could age in comfortably,” Janet says. “Throughout the entire process, our design mantra was simple, clean lines. And in keeping with the farmhouse theme, Barn Light Electric had several fixtures that appealed to us, especially for the kitchen.” During their online search, Janet and her husband found Barn Light Electric and fell in love with the Ivanhoe® Sinclair Porcelain Pendant in the Jadite finish.
“We wanted pendants over the kitchen island that had an authentic feel as well as an artful edge,” Janet explains. “The look is exactly what we had imagined and fits the theme of our home perfectly! Many people agree as we receive regular compliments on the lights.” Janet purchased three 10″ Ivanhoe™ Sinclair pendants and customized them with a Polished Nickel socket with a knob switch and a Putty colored cotton twist cord. She also purchased a 12″ Schoolhouse Pendant with Opal Glass for over the kitchen sink. This vintage pendant features a 12″ galvanized stem and mounting. And while Janet loves the look of her new American made lighting, she was equally pleased with the quality of the fixtures.
