MAYOR & COUNCIL MEETING    BARNEGAT LIGHT     FEBRUARY 3, 2005

 

THE SPECIAL MEETING of the Mayor and Council was called to order by  Mayor Larson, at 8:30am at the Borough Hall, on West 10th Street. The  Mayor stated that adequate notice of this meeting has been provided in accordance with the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act by transmitting notice of same to the Beach Haven Times and the Atlantic City Press on January 27, 2005 and by posting a copy of the notice of this meeting on the bulletin board in the Borough Hall on January 27, 2005. Said newspapers were designated by Mayor and Council on January 3, 2005, to receive such notice, and by filing a copy of the notice with the Borough Clerk on January 27, 2005.

THE CLERK stated that the minutes of this meeting are being officially recorded and such tape will be on file in the office of the Borough Clerk and be made a part of these written minutes.

 

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT HEARING

 

The Administrator began by saying she had spoken with Terry Brady and Frank Little about Mrs. Reynolds request to asked for money for the law suit items.    We want to finish that ASAP so we are not going to ask for Block Grant money for that.  This was not supposed to be our year for CDBG – but due to the fact that Harvey Cedars is only asking for $20,000.00, we are able to request this smaller amount.  What we are asking for is $3500.00 for 2 Beach Wheels and umbrellas.  There was no public to speak at the hearing.

        RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF BARNEGAT LIGHT,

            COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY,

       AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL TO APPLY FOR                    COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS

 

 

 

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Barnegat Light, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, that the application of the Borough of Barnegat Light to the Ocean County Community Development Block Grant Program for $3500.00.00 for Handicap Accessible Equipment For Beach Access, is hereby approved by the Governing Body.
