MAYOR & COUNCIL MEETING   BARNEGAT LIGHT, JANUARY 2,  2008

 

 

THE ORGANIZATION MEETING of the Mayor and Council was called to order by Mayor Larson at 9:00am at the Borough Hall, on West 10th Street.  The Mayor stated that adequate notice of this meeting has been provided in accordance with the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act by posting a copy of the notice of this meeting on the bulletin board in the Borough Hall on January 2, 2007 and by mailing a copy of the notice to the Beach Haven Times and the Asbury Park Press, newspapers designated by Mayor and Council on January 3, 2007 to receive such notice, and by filing a copy of the notice with the Borough Clerk on January 3, 2007.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

THE CLERK stated that the minutes of this meeting are being officially recorded and such tape will be on file in the office of the Borough Clerk and be made a part of these written minutes.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BARNEGAT LIGHT, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, Amending Ordinance no. 2006-02, entitled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED ‘AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE ANNUAL SALARIES OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE BOROUGH OF BARNEGAT LIGHT, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY’,” to provide COMPENSATION for a waiver of health benefits by municipal officers and employees.

 

The Clerk read the above by title and number and the Mayor announced it is time to introduce same on first reading according to law.  Morrison moved to introduce, seconded by Reynolds and carried by all.

        RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF BARNEGAT LIGHT,

            COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY,

             SETTING THE TIME, DATE AND PLACE OF

              THE MEETING OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL

 

 

     BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council, the Governing Body of the Borough of Barnegat Light, shall hold their regular meetings as follows:

 

     JANUARY 16, FEBRUARY 20, MARCH 19, APRIL 16, MAY 21,

     JUNE 18, JULY 16, AUGUST 20, SEPTEMBER 17, OCTOBER 15,    NOVEMBER 19, AND DECEMBER 17, 2008.

 

     All Meetings will be held at the Borough Hall, 10 W 10th St. Meetings will be:  Caucus 7:30PM, Regular Meeting 8:00PM. 

 

     Reorganization of 2009 - January 7, 2009, 9:00AM, Borough Hall, 10 W. 10th Street, Barnegat Light.

 

     The Governing Body may also call Special Meetings on 48 hours notice, which shall state when and where it is to be held and the matters to be considered at the meeting.  The Mayor and three (3) Council members, or in the absence of the Mayor, four (4) Council members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

RESOLUTION 08-002

 

 

        RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF BARNEGAT LIGHT,

            COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY,

            PROVIDING FOR A TEMPORARY BUDGET FOR

                THE BOROUGH OF BARNEGAT LIGHT

 

 

     WHEREAS, NJSA 40A:4-19 provides for the making of temporary appropriations for the period January 1, 2008 to the adoption of the 2008 Budget; and

 

     WHEREAS,  the Governing Body desires to provide for the orderly method of paying claims during the period prior to the adoption of the 2008 Budget.

 

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following appropriations which do not exceed twenty-six and twenty-five hundredths percent (26.25%) of the 2007 appropriations exclusive of Debt Service, Capital Improvement Fund and Public Assistance, are hereby adopted as the 2008 Temporary Budget:
