Viking Village Art & Craft Show- !?

Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony-

6:30PM line-up (behind Borough Hall), 7:00PM, the parade begins at West 11th St. & concludes at the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park.  Ocean County Emerald Society Bagpipe Band will be featured.  In case of rain, there will be a concert in the Firehouse Social Hall, 494-9196

7:30PM - 9:30PM at the Lighthouse State Park, sponsored by Ocean County Parks.  Valerie Vaughn will be performing.  Bring your own chairs and/or blankets. For information and registration call 971-3085 

June 21st & 22nd – Saturday & Sunday:

Skim Boarding Contest-   

8:00AM until 5:00PM on the beach at 9th Street.  This contest is open to both professionals and amateurs.  Beach Badges are required for all participants and spectators.   For more information contact Surf Shack, 494-4017 or Mary Miller at Freedom Surf Shop, 494-6554

6:30PM- assemble at East 16th Street, parade begins at 7:00PM, this year the theme is “Olympians on Parade”, awards & concert (Cinnaminson Liberty Band) following the parade at the bay dock area- between 9th & 10th Street.  In case of rain the concert will be held in the Firehouse Social Hall- 10th & Central, 494-9196

St. Peter’s at the Light Open House-

10:00AM – 12:00 Noon.  Please come & see our beautiful restored church, 7th & Central, 494-2398

Viking Village Dock Tours-

10:00AM- 19th & Bayview.  Come see how this historic dock operates.  To make reservations, please call the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce, 494-7211

Children’s Field Event- &

9:30AM- Registration, events begin at 10:00AM.  Once again the events will be held on the 25th St. ocean beach. The events are for children in Kindergarten to Sixth Grade, 494-9196

47th Annual Long Beach Island Lifeguard Races- %

Hosted by Long Beach Township, the races will be held in Brant Beach at the 68th Street beach & begin at 6:00PM.  August 14th is the rain date.  For more information, call 361-1200

October 11th – Saturday:

October 25th – Saturday:

Bonfire & Storytelling- ! "  

6:30PM – 8:00PM, Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, sponsored by the Borough of Barnegat Light & Ocean County, there will be a bonfire, storytelling with Robin Moore and a sing-along, call for more information, 494-9196 

November 28th– Friday: 

Santa’s Arrival & Christmas Tree Lighting-

7:00PM- Santa arrives at the 10th Street Boat Ramp, then proceeds to the Borough Hall via fire truck for the lighting of the “Borough Christmas Tree” and carols.  The evening ends at the First Aid Building for visits with Santa & refreshments with the children, 494-9196 

November 24th – Saturday:

Santa visits Viking Village

1:00PM Santa arrives by Fire truck and will be available for visits and pictures (bring your own camera) until 3:00PM, 361-7008 
 
 

Things to Know: 

Beach Badges-

Beach Badges are required by all persons, 12 and over, who are on the beach.  Badges are required from June 21st until September 1st between the hours of 10:00AM and 5:00PM. 

      Fees:

Boat Ramp- o

The ramp is located at 10th & Bayview

      Fees:

            Season Pass is $80.00 per vessel (including jet skis)

            Daily Pass is $12.00 per vessel (including jet skis)

            Commercial Season Pass is $175.00

Tennis Courts-

The tennis courts are public courts and can be used by anyone.  Reservations are recommended, Barnegat Light residents can make reservations two weeks in advance and all others one week in advance.

The courts are open 7:30AM until 8:00PM Monday through Friday and from 7:00AM until 8:00PM on Saturday & Sunday.  During the week Court #1 is available for 1 ½ hour play 7:30AM until 12 Noon (last play beginning at 10:30AM). 

      Fees:

            Regular fees -$12.00 per hour per court & $18.00 for the    1 ½ hour court

Skate Park-

The Skate Park is open daily from 9:00Am until 8:00PM (or dusk, whichever comes first).  All skaters must have a badge, helmet, elbow pads & kneepads

       Badges:

            Yearly Pass -free to Barnegat Light residents, $20.00 for    non-residents

            Weekly Pass - $5.00 and is good for one week from the date    of purchase

            Daily Pass is $3.00 for each day 

Beach Wheels-  I   é

Beach wheels are available to be lent out to any beach patron who is unable to walk to the beach or on the beach.  For more information call the Borough Hall at (609) 494-9196 Monday through Friday between 8:30AM and 3:30PM 

Dogs-  õ

All dogs must be licensed and leashed.  Dogs are allowed on the beach on a leash from October 1st until April 15th

 Dog Park

      The ballfield on West 10th Street is also a Dog Park.  Try it out and  meet other “pups” and their families.  It’s a great place for dogs to  run free and enjoy. 

Driveways-  H

Driveways need to be designated, you may not use your entire property front as a driveway.  You can designate a minimum of 10 feet and a maximum 0f 20 feet, the remainder of your property front may be used for public street parking 

Volunteering-  hf

The First Aid Squad and Fire Company need volunteers- come out and help your neighbors! 

Memory Benches-  Y

Benches can be purchased and placed almost anywhere around town- for more information call Borough Hall Monday through Friday between 8:30AM and 3:30PM at (609) 494-9196  

Museum Hours- Â

The Barnegat Light Museum is located at 5th & Central.

      Weekends in June & September- 11:00PM – 2:00PM

      Daily in July & August- 11:00PM – 2:00PM

Recycling-

Please pick-up your recycling schedules at the Borough Hall. Ocean County now has the “All In One Bin” program for paper recycling.  Please pick up the guidelines & required stickers at the Borough Hall. Bulk items are not picked up during the months of July and August.  Items with Freon must have the Freon removed before they will be picked up, call the Borough Hall for more information.

Digging Holes on the Beach-N

Digging holes on the beach is extremely dangerous!  Do not dig holes any deeper than your knees and be sure to fill in all holes when finished
